The palmtop chassis (or case) holds the internal components of the computer as well as an integrated |keyboard| and a permanently attached, hinged |monitor| or integrated display. Other components of the palmtop chassis can include activity lights, air vents, power switch, reset button, battery housing, and connectors.
Though limited in power and scope, the palmtop's small size and weight, with its portable power supply, make it ideal for anyone who needs a portable system. Palmtop computers are becoming more and more popular as the components become smaller and smaller. As advances in battery and graphic display technology increase, so will the demand for these tiny systems. In contrast to |desktop| and |tower| style cases, the palmtop computer is not meant to be opened by other than trained technicians (doing so often voids the manufacturer's warranty).
